Yetti and the Kokonut Fruit Basket 2018
The Yetti and the Kokonut Fruit Basket is a unique wine drinking experience, 13 different varieties interplanted in a 95-year-old vineyard in Springton, Eden Valley.
David Geyer and Koen Janssens (Yetti and the Kokonut) met in 2015 and set forth to experiment with grapes in exciting new ways, think of it as drinking outside of the box. With their feet in the vineyards and their tongues in their cheek, a new breed of wines were created that unlike your sketchy friend, needed minimal intervention. These creations have finally escaped the laboratory and are now available right here for your enjoyment!
“The world has given many dynamic duos, Batman & Robin, Sonny & Cher, the adding of Milo to milk…enter Yetti & The Kokonut”
The concept of a ‘field blend’ is meant to showcase a specific patch of earth, combining all the varieties and the character of the vineyard to create something one of a kind that cannot be replicated anywhere else. David and Koen have eased this wine into the bottle with their usual hands-off approach. Some skins, some time in old foudre, and a bucket-load of attitude. This is a crazy fruit basket blend of thirteen different varieties from a famous vineyard in Springton that’s approaching 100-years-old!!
“This wine is our rainbow, with so many colours, flavours, senses and emotions attached to it.”
