Viña Palaciega Reserva Rioja is a very bright ruby-red with brick-red glints. You’ll find very rich aromas that provide harmony and finesse with an ample, silky, well-balanced and very persistent finish on the palate. Viña Palaciega Reserva Rioja will be ideal to accompany all types of red meat, lamb and game and perfect with medium-cured cheeses.
The grapes are carefully selected, destemmed then partially crushed with a high proportion of full berries. The juice then undergoes a 15 – 20 day maceration period with pumping over taking place daily. A controlled fermentation follows at between 24-28º, using both native and selected yeasts.
With Rioja wines, you can consistency expect big flavor and relatively high tannins. There are four different styles of Rioja: Rioja, Crianza, Reservea, and Gran Reserva. Viña Palaciega Reserva Rioja is of the Reserva style, meaning it was required to age for a minimum of three years, one of which must have been in cask. Reservas are much sought after since they are a wonderful inbetween of the fruiter Crianza and the oakier Gran Reserva… the best of both worlds!
