The Supernatural ‘The Super Nat’ Pét-Nat is produced at the supernatural wine company in Hawkes Bay – New Zealand. The philosophy here centres on great terroir and traditional ways of working, the aim is to make all wines as naturally as possible. The use of indigenous yeast from their own vineyard for fermentation as well as ensuring that they add nothing to the wines other than a little sulphur prior to bottling results in wines of pure, vibrant character. The focus is on producing dry aromatic and skin-fermented white wines in a very clean and direct style. Winemaker magician is the talented Hayden Penny.
The Supernatural ‘The Super Nat’ Pét-Nat is a unique petillant naturel style sparkling wine from Supernatural in New Zealand. Dry, with floral fruity flavours and a biscuity finish. Naturally cloudy. It has been naturally fermented in the bottle, sediment will remain. Chill and carefully decant to enjoy clear, or invert bottle before opening to enjoy cloudy.
2017 – Stephen Wong MW “‘Upon tasting, the bubbles create a sense of creaminess and softness to the otherwise honeyed, crisp palate. Just off-dry, it combines a crisp cucumber/chalky phenolic with an intense, fleshy and juicy mid-palate of honeyed baked apples and quince. Generous and grainy in parts, it is certainly fun, but also subliminally quite serious wine! As close as you’re likely to get to tasting a fresh wine which has just finished ferment (literally?!).”
