Pivnica Brhlovce BlaBla Pet Nat 2019 is made from the grape Blaufränkisch and grown using biodynamic winemaking techniques on 50 year old vines. This pale strawberry coloured wine has a light fizziness to it with juicy raspberries, cherries and a bright acidity. This is a great Friday night wine, perfectly refreshing to welcome the weekend after a long week of work.
The grapes of Blaufränkisch for BlaBla Pet Nat were hand-harvested, de-stemmed and let to ferment on skins for 8 days. After the peak of fermentation, the winemaker kept a close eye on the levels of sugar and alcohol in the fermenting juice and bottled it on the slighter lower level of sugar, than normally used for Pet Nat production as he wanted to create frizzante style of wine with less fizz than pet nat. This approach worked out perfectly and this is a perfect low sugar wine.
Pivnica Brhlovce is a small artisinal winery situated in Slovakia. The vineyard has deep volcanic subsoil, created long ago by the ancient and might Sitno volcano. Winemaker Ján Záborský founded Pivinca Brhlovce to create wines a more traditional artisan way that is part of the cultural history of Slovakia. Following intuition and experience, he ‘listens’ to the wine to find the right moment in which it is ready to be bottled. Refocusing on the moon, the stars, and nature, these natural elements are vital to producing natural wines with strong integrity and full of heart. Each bottle is hand painted, adding the the craft wine experience!
