Escabeces is the name of a small town in Tarragona where 99% of this rare Cartoixa Vermell (just a few vineyards) is planted. As the vineyards climb from the sea to the Serra de Montalt mountains, the soils and climates change from the Mediterranean to Continental, offering a wide range of wine style.
Darker than 2017, and beautifully blood orange-tinted. Blood orange, pink grapefruit and red apple on the nose. Notes of tinned peaches and white raisins. The palate is full of smooth, stone fruit, apricot and peach skin with great concentration and texture. Sightly grippy and fresh tannins, bitter even. Long and juicy. Red apple skin finish.
