Orange Pinot Noir Stapleton & Springer is a product of the collaboration between the former US Ambassador Craig Stapleton, lawyer Benjamin Stapleton and winemaker Jaroslav Springer, who entered into an agreement to create a winery bearing the names of these founding members and to produce a red wine of the highest quality. Stapleton-Springer now specialises in the creation of red wines mostly from Pinot Noir. White wines are created from Chardonnay. The winery went already fully organic in 2007, followed in 2011 with an official BIO-certification. Reverence for nature and the vineyards are fundamental for Stapleton and Springer, based on the idea to pass them on next generation as clean and pure as possible. Organic care promotes the creation of more antioxidants in our grapes, and therefore superior quality and distinguished taste.
Stapleton & Springer Orange de Pinot Noir Moravia 2015 is an orange wine. The colour comes from yeast contact of 15 – 20 days at low temperature, rather than skin contact. The wine opens up to red and black cherry fruit aromas with a peppery kick. Smoothly textured with well-integrated tannin and a lovely mouth-feel. Very complex, assuredly Pinot-like, with good body but quite fresh on the finish. Drinking this wine is an experience, one you will not have had before. A crazy idea, expertly executed.
