Story
The Nutbourne Vineyards Nutty Brut is produced by the adventurous Bridget Gladwin back in 1991. Since then she has grown the Nutbourne brand to having several still and a handful of sparkling wines.
The “Terroir” at Nutbourne is a unique and ideal wine growing environment – a warm microclimate protected by the South Downs, gentle south-facing slopes and the same fertile greensand soil as the Champagne region in France. There are 26 acres (and growing) under vine. The Vineyard is considered one of the premier wine producers in the South East, offering a range of estate grown still and sparkling wines which are highly competitive worldwide.
The Nutbourne Vineyards Nutty Brut is produced from ten-year-old Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines and thirty-year-old old Reichensteiner grapes. The wine itself is Golden in colour and there is a natural richness, with a good biting acidity. It’s floral and beautifully balanced. This wine is matured in the bottle for 3 years before a vintage is released.
