The Cabot Square Cabernet Sauvignon is produced operating from a former gin distillery, It’s central London’s first urban winery and they began production in 2013 by sourcing high-quality grapes from the vineyards of selected growers across Europe. Now focusing on the production of English wines, London Cru sources high-quality grapes, and they handpick the fruit and then transports it to the London winery within a matter of hours – talk about being sustainable!!
The wines are created by winemaker; Agustín, Agustín came on board for the 2017 vintage. He has extensive experience of cool-climate winemaking, having worked with some of Austria and Germany’s best producers, and you’ll find the wines fresh, ripe, and wonderfully evocative of the English countryside. The wines are uncompromisingly quality-focused and critically acclaimed.
The Cabot Square Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and come from organic vineyards on limestone soil, farmed by Jeff Coutelou (a top class natural winemaker). These grapes were grown in the Languedoc, France, and the wine made in London. On the palate, it’s pure and has an intense blackcurrant and cedar flavour; full-bodied, with great structure; long, complex finish. Lots of fruit makes this good to drink on release, but its structure will allow it to improve over ten years.
