We are pleased to introduce to you; Le Pavillon du Château Beauchêne, Côtes du Rhône 2018 – this is a mind-blowing take on Côtes du Rhône especially for the price!! This wine really does hit the spot being both wonderfully easy-going and absurdly cheap!!
Amandine Bernard – the daughter fo the original owner of Château Beauchêne, the family’s first vineyard – purchased in 1794 – is still in use today. And with her parents running the estate since 1971 (her father being the former head of the confederation of Rhône producers), there’s very little the family doesn’t know about the region and its wines.
Winemaking at the Chateau is hugely sustainable, having been awarded an HEV (High Environmental Value) High Environmental Value (HEV) is based on environmental performance indicators that cover the entire estate. The certification makes it possible to certify that the elements of biodiversity (hedges, grass strips, trees, flowers, insects, etc.) are very widely present on the farm and that the pressure of agricultural practices on the environment (air, climate, water, soil, biodiversity, landscapes) is reduced to a minimum.
Le Pavillon du Château Beauchêne, Côtes du Rhône 2018 has a deep red colour of ruby or ripe cherry, the nose has a wonderful bouquet of ripe red fruits and bilberries. The palate has a great tannic structure, this develops to some hints of raspberries and blackcurrant. A well-balanced and harmonious wine which displays a great length. This wine is well suited to all meat and game dishes, and is also the perfect accompaniment to all cheeses.
