*NOTICE* – Due to high demand, substitutions may have to be made but don’t worry, all wines sent will feature in the tasting with Elliot on Friday.
During this tricky time of inability to get out, socialise and seek entertainment, we’ve teamed up with one of our partner suppliers, Elliot Awin to host a virtual tasting over Instagram Live. At 7:30 on Friday night, Elliot will host a tasting from the isolation of his house, to chat through these three wines with anyone that wishes to join!
Le Pavillon du Château Beauchêne, Côtes du Rhône – this is a mind-blowing take on Côtes du Rhône especially for the price!! This wine really does hit the spot being both wonderfully easy-going and absurdly cheap!! This superb wine has a deep red colour of ruby or ripe cherry, the nose has a wonderful bouquet of ripe red fruits and bilberries. The palate has a great tannic structure, this develops to some hints of raspberries and blackcurrant. A well-balanced and harmonious wine which displays a great length. This wine is well suited to all meat and game dishes, and is also the perfect accompaniment to all cheeses.
The Pepper Pot by Edgebaston in South Africa is a powerful wine! Exactly as it says on the label, it’s spicy, packs a punch and is a pleasure to drink. The wine was created to show off the spicy varietals of the Rhone whilst still remaining fresh and fruity when in perfect balance.
Dom Rafael White is sourced from old Antão Vaz, Arinto and Fernão Pires vines on the Mouchão Estate. Cold-fermented in the century-old winery, this structured, citrus white wine shows remarkable crispness and character, and is enjoyed both on its own and as a fine accompaniment to seafood dishes.
Elliot’s isolation case is the perfect stay at home case, best for sharing, but be sure to give everyone their own glass! You can check Elliot out on insta here: @elliotawin
