Domaine Plouzeau Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2016 made by Marc Plouzeau. Domaine Plouzeau was established by his father Pierre in 1976 and then converted to organic viticulture when Marc took over in 1999. The Château de la Bonnelière makes some of the most distinctive Chinon and Touraine wines of any producer in the Loire region. It is a low-yielding vineyard where with artisan approach it rivals the most sought-after winemakers in Sancerre. Add to that a top-notch winery, Plouzeau’s wines hugely outperform expectations. The Touraine Sauvignon Blancs, in particular, offers incredible value for money and should be regarded as a serious alternative to top-quality Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé.
This Touraine Sauvignon Blanc is phenomenal. Brisk, dry, crisp white with fresh fruit flavours. Great value for money too, for a solid glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Try it with asparagus or goats cheese.
