Dlúhé Grefty Mixtura Rosa 2016
Mixtura Rosa is produced by Dlúhé Grefty. Dlúhé is a natural micro production winemaker and the vineyard is located in the village of Mutenice of Moravia (the wine region of Czech Republic). Approximately 6,500 vines are planted here and the winemaker produces around 5,000 bottles of extraordinary wines. Low intervention (some of the vines are unpruned) in vineyards is followed with minimal intervention in cellars. Spontaneous natural fermentation with no or minimum sulphur added is essential to Dlúhé Grefty’s wine craft. Wines from the winemaker are very popular in and out of the Czech Republic, with majority export to Canada and Nordic countries.
Mixtura Rosa a is very special/peculiar wine. A blend of three red varieties; Andre, Neronet and Blaufränkish. Free flow of juice from crushed grapes of Andre and Neronet was gathered to old wooden barrels, where spontaneous fermentation happened and the wine matured for one year on lees. After that, a small amount of the juice of Blaufrankish was added and bottled under the crown top for slow secondary fermentation. The goal did not turn the wine into Pet-Nat, by full secondary fermentation, but rather keep a bit of residual sugar from juice and preserve the taste notes of Blaufränkish grapes – berry tones which reveals its characteristic acidity. The wine is delicious in its youth!
This amazing wine is very very limited!!
