Château Vignelaure Rosé comes from Chateau Vignelaure “the vineyard of the sacred spring”, It’s the jewel in the crown of the appellation Côteaux d’Aix-en-Provence. Set high in the hills, the vineyards cover more than 60 hectares and it has established a reputation as one of the finest producers in the South of France. The wines are a perfect example of Provencal winemaking at the highest level and are made of grapes which include some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in the 1960’s from cuttings from Chateau La Lagune.
Chateau Vignelaure is certainly the most famous wine-producing estate of Provence. The chateau and its surrounding vineyards are located in the wild with beautiful countryside just to the north of the town of Aix-en-Provence, in the south-east of France. It is known that the vines have been cultivated here for more than two thousand years.
This rosé is made partly by the “saignée” method: free-run juice is run off the tanks of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon after just a few hours of skin contact, leading to an attractive pale coral-pink colour with wonderful fruit qualities.
