Tradition 2016 is a wine from the family-owned property of Chateau La Tuilerie du Puy. The colour of the wine is a deep red as you would expect from a bottle of Bordeaux. On the nose, we get an expressive aroma with a mix of cherries, Blackberrys and cassis. All very dark and jammy expressions of each of the notable fruits are apparent in this glass of wine. It has a full body to it and the feel of the fruits in which its packing feel abundant on the palate. Wines like this go best with a plate of hearty food and the Tradition 2016 is no different. A rich duck stew, a rich A Sunday lunch or even a cheese platter with ripe, soft cheeses will provide the perfect plethora of foo for this bottle to be the perfect accompaniment. The grapes for Tradition 2016 are picked and sorted in the field. Upon arriving at the winery, They are then put into tanks for 4 to 6 weeks to allow a slow extraction, guaranteeing a perfect expression of the terroir. The wines are then aged for 12 months on lees to express the fruit and finesse. The soils surrounding the Bordeaux chateau are rich in clay and limestone with a rocky basement. this gives a great combination of being able to supply the water and minerals to the vines whilst maintaining good drainage to prevent the loss of flavour concentration in the grapes.
