The Chateau de Fonscolombe Rose`Gold Label` is a stunning provençal estate which is located 15km north of the medieval city of Aix. The vineyards lie along the south bank of the Durance river. Under the direction of James de Roany, his traditional dry Provençal rosé is made by the saignée method of `bleeding` the fermenting juice from the skins to preserve the delicacy and character of Provence rosé. The wine estate takes root in the Roman period. Very mineral soil and a Mediterranean climate mark their imprints on its wines. Rich in PGI Bouches du Rhône and AOC Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, Domaine de Fonscolombe offers wines with a fine and fruity nose in all three colours. Plots of Merlot, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon are worked with respect for tradition, allowing the Domaine’s wines to benefit from the Organic Farming label.
The Chateau de Fonscolombe Rosé is a dry and elegant rosé from a historic Chateau in Provence. Pale partridge eye pink in colour with aromas of ripe stone fruits, cherry blossom and a touch of fresh raspberry on the nose. The palate is crisp and refined with summer berries and a fresh grapefruit acidity.
