The Château d’Anglès Classique Rose is produced by Eric Fabre. Eric Fabre’s wealth of experience, including eight years as technical director at Château Lafite Rothschild, enabled him to overcome the considerable challenges awaiting them. Restructuring the vineyard was a high priority in order to balance the assembly of traditional grape varieties such as Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache or Carignan for the reds and Bourboulenc, Roussanne and Marsanne for the whites. Each section of the 45 hectares on the estate is closely followed under the paternal eye of Eric Fabre, with real respect for the environment. Round, fresh, charming, precise, complex, structured, delicate – are all qualities of the Château d’Anglès Great Wines that reflect the values held by Eric and Christine Fabre. The d’Anglès Classique Rosé is produced following sustainable practices according to the High Environmental Value charter (level 3) in respect for the environment and complexity of the wine: composted pomace, mulched prunings, ploughing, no insecticides and no weedkillers.
“Even when I’m in the swimming pool, I enjoy drinking tasty rosé. The expressive and structured rosé d’Anglès is also very much appreciated matching with food.” Eric Fabre
The Classique Rose is a brilliant, “pink flamingo” colour. Intense and complex nose of white flowers and fruits, citrus fruits and also small fresh red berries aromas. Plentiful mouth with a long and complex aromatic composition balanced by a mineral freshness. It’s excellent with Asian cuisine and red berries-based desserts.
I was really taken by Ch d’Anglès, Classique Rosé. A singular blend that had a rather umami quality to it, lovely freshness and a proper dry finish. A ‘Real wine’, I wrote and thought it would make both a good aperitif and is quite substantial enough to go with food. It’s more assertive than a typical Provençal rosé and much drier than most New World pinks.
