John Dore – the Cannd wine creator was inspired by long hot summer holidays in Northern Italy, with quality time and conversation with family and friends and the simplicity of life! Cannd was built on the passion for uncomplicated and no-nonsense quality wine that was always at the table for everyone to enjoy.
Never far away from the table was the slightly chilled 1.5-litre dark glass bottle of Barbera D’Asti. This no-nonsense and simple red wine was ever-present throughout John’s stay in Italy, made by his cousin Lorenzo (and his father before him) on his modest vineyard in a small municipality located in the province of Asti in Northern Italy.
“As I’ve grown up and started my own family and career the long hot summer trips to Italy have reduced in frequency and length, however, the red wine has continued to be a part of our eating and drinking ritual. We have continued the annual pilgrimage of driving to Italy to bring back small batches of our cousins unbranded Barbera D’Asti to the UK to drink with family and friends.” John Dore
This simple no-nonsense Barbera D’Asti has been ever-present throughout John’s adulthood, enjoyed by family and friends at dinner tables, in gardens, on holiday, camping, at BBQ’s, at outdoor events like Glastonbury and even at his wedding! The wine comes in a sustainable and infinitely recyclable aluminium cans, with simple no-nonsense labelling and a promise that there will be no compromise on quality or taste, so you can focus on the more important things in life.
At just £4.80 a can it’s wine to be enjoyed now, without overthinking it.
