The nose has both a tangy and a creamy aspect and both are equally enticing. It’s light and easy palate, gentle pear fruit is supported by bright lemony freshness. The finish is dry and tangy. – Anne Krebiehl MW
The Allram estate is in the heart of the Kamptal, in the picturesque Strass im Strassertale. Michaela Haas-Allram took over her parent’s business in 1992 and has since operated the winery with her husband Erich. Allram has been one of the leading wineries of the Kamptal for decades, with holdings in the famous vineyards of Heiligenstein, Gaisberg, and Renner. For the owners, the main factor of producing exceptional wines is to be found already in the vineyards.
Their strong family ethos extends to all areas of the winery – with Erich and son Lorenz sharing responsibilities in the vineyards and cellar whilst Michaela and daughter Magdalena are responsible for the commercial side. Michaela´s father Walter is still a regular visitor out in the vineyard. The harmony of the generations is at the root of the positive philosophy. Lorenz values family traditions whilst seeking to strive for tomorrow – creating marvellous wines with distinctive varietal character.
The Allram team consistently creates high-quality organic wines (plus, it is a vegan wine) by combining the knowledge of generations with state-of-the-art technology. Both, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling thrive in Lorenz’s hands, with the 2016 Gaisberg winning 97 pts at the International Wine Challenge in London receiving the white wine trophy.
