The Allram Grüner Veltliner Strass Kamptal 2017 is produced at the Allram estate, which is situated in the heart of the wine growing area Kamptal in the picturesque location, Straß im Straßertale. The winery belongs to growers who have succeeded in establishing themselves at the top of Austrian viniculture through decades of consistently high-quality work. Michaela and Erich are particularly proud of their facility at Zöbinger Heiligenstein which was re-cultivated with great of sensitivity after thirty years of neglect, including preservation of the original old stone terraces. The love and passion of wine growers for their job enables the production of marvellous tight wines with distinctive varietal character. Grüner Veltliner Gaisberg, Riesling Heiligenstein, Grauburgunder and Chardonnay are internationally renowned and admired. Yearly national and international awards have been bestowed upon the wine growers for their excellent work.
Allram Grüner Veltliner Strass Kamptal DAC 2017 is a typical Grüner Veltliner from grapes from vineyards in and around the village of Strass in Kampala in Lower Austria. It is a very young wine, meant to be drunk young and comes at very good value for this much quality. Slate, gravel and loess and limestone soil make are distinct for a refreshing and dignified Grüner Veltliner. The grapes are hand harvested and the wine has had some extended time on the lees for additional flavour and colour.
Delicate peppery aroma with refreshing citrus notes on the palate, spicy, charming and light, clear pepperiness…
